To provide a basic grounding in sailing skills to Scouts and Explorer Scouts within the Petersfield Scout District, through both shore-based and on the water instruction.
To provide the opportunity for Scouts to develop sportsmanship and self reliance through the provision of facilities for regular cruising and racing within a suitably safe environment.
Activities
Learn theoretical sailing skills including boat handling, navigation, safety, ropework and meteorology.
Helm and crew in Wayfarer dinghies.
Experience sailing in a larger cruising yacht.
Participate in fun days such as the county regatta and social events such as skittle evenings.
